Obituary of Maria Roman

Maria Del Carmen Roman passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, February 4, 2025 at the Preakness Health Center in Wayne. She was 69.

Born and raised in Manhattan, NY, she had lived in Bronx, NY, Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, and for many years in Orangeburg, NY. She had also lived in Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ before coming to Wayne. 

Maria enjoyed playing Bingo and attending Bible Study. She also taught many people American Sign Language. She had a contagious smile, and will surely be missed and never forgotten!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gumercindo Roman and Francisca (Pancha) Narvaez Roman; and her brothers, Jose (Joe) Roman, Gumercindo (Gigi) Roman, and Miguel Angel Roman.

Maria is survived by her loving sisters, Margarita Soltren of Milleville, NJ, Luz M. Martinez and her husband, Juan of Millville, NJ, and Virginia Roman of Bayamon, PR; and her dear brother, Pedro Roman and his wife, Susan of Lake George, NY. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved her dearly.

Funeral Services and Interment at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny will be private under the direction of S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, Lake Hiawatha, NJ.
