Obituary of James R. Lombino
James R. Lombino passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 1, 2025 at Sunrise at West Essex in Fairfield, NJ surrounded by his loving family. He was 85.
Jim was born May 28, 1939 to Dominck and Jeane Lombino, and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Jim proudly served in the US Army Reserves before his honorable discharge.
He met the love of his life, the former Judy Mulvihill, in 1958. After getting married in 1963, Jim and Judy settled in Staten Island, NY and started a family, adding 3 sons. The family later moved to Brookfield, CT so Jim could follow opportunity to grow his career.
As his professional reputation began to blossom, Jim was recruited back to New York City and the family moved to White Plains, NY. Jim and Judy later in life, settled in Montville Township NJ to be closer to family. Throughout the years, he, and his wife, traveled back and forth to a second home in Boynton Beach, FL where they enjoyed the sun and the many friends they made there.
Jim had a successful 48-year Wall Street career across a few companies retiring in 2007 from Bear Stearns Co. Inc., where he was Director of Futures & Commodity Operations. Jim worked tirelessly, rising at 5am every day to be in downtown NY for premarket analysis with his team.
Jim made sure to be home in time for dinner to run the original classroom, "the dinner table." There he taught and guided his family using some of his well-known characteristics of patience and wisdom. Jim's family man super power was on full display every summer in Cape Cod as he and Judy would lead the family to the quiet beach town of Truro MA each year to bond together in appreciation of family.
In addition to Judy, his beloved wife of 62 years, he is survived by his three loving sons, Ken Lombino and his wife, Carol B. Ingher of South Kingstown, RI, David Lombino and his wife, Celeste Lombino of White Plains, NY, and Jeff Lombino and his wife, Jo Shui, of Montville NJ; two dear siblings, Alma Lauder of Staten Island, NY, and Thomas Lombino of Saratoga Springs, NY; and his eight cherished grandchildren, Abby, James, Sam, Jenna, Thaddeus, Talia, Cleo, and Callan, who were the lights of his life.
