Obituary of Maryann Halleran
Maryann Halleran (nee Sessa) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday morning, March 3, 2025 at her Montville Township, NJ home. She was 66.
Born in Newark, NJ, Maryann was raised in Cedar Grove, NJ. It was there that she met the love of her life, William Halleran. They were married in 1980 and moved to the Towaco section of Montville Township, where they began their family and would spend the next 45 years together.
Maryann graduated from Cedar Grove High School and subsequently from Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Montclair.
She had worked as a secretary with Manuli Co. of Fairfield, NJ and the 3M Company of Caldwell, NJ, before leaving the business world to lovingly raise her three children. More recently, Maryann was the Parish Secretary for St. Pius X Roman Catholic Parish in Montville for 14 years before retiring five years ago.
A soft-spoken, kind hearted woman, Maryann made a lasting impression on all those that knew her. A longtime parishioner of St. Pius X R.C. Church, she loved the beach and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, William K. Halleran; three beloved children, Christopher Halleran of Towaco, Jennifer Halleran and her fiancee, Matthew Schaner of Raleigh, NC, and Sharon Davis and her husband, Tyrell of Budd Lake, NJ; a dear brother, John Sessa Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Little Falls, NJ; her three nephews, Jonathan, Ryan and Nicholas Sessa and her two cherished grandchildren, Anthony and Brielle Davis.
