Obituary of Gary L. Roche

Gary L. Roche passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, March 4, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. He was 77. Born and raised in Bronx, NY, he came to Parsippany-Troy Hills in 1977.

Mr. Roche was very proud of his service in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Gary had a distinguished career in telecommunications. He began his tenure with NY Telephone in Brooklyn, NY and subsequently worked with AT&T before the company finally became Verizon. He retired in 2005 as a manager after 25 years with the company. Following his retirement, he worked as a dedicated crossing guard at Central Middle School in Parsippany.

An avid and faithful New York Yankees fan, Gary was a classic car enthusiast. His Classic Chevy pickup truck won several car shows over the years. He was also a dog lover who raised and showed show dogs. He was a member and Past-President of the Sussex Hill Kennel Club and had often served as the Chairman of the club's annual dog show.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara (nee Sirak); two loving daughters, Mariel Dryl and her husband, Anthony of Denville, NJ and Andrea K. Kodack and her husband, Richard of Rockaway, NJ; a dear sister, Bonnie Roche-Speziale of Fort Myers, FL; and his three cherished grandchildren, Tristin Reaves, Cole Kodack, and Mason Kodack.

At the family's request, Funeral Services and cremation will be private under the direction of the S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. For those so desiring, memorial gifts in Gary's honor can be made to the United States Veterans Administration.
