Catherine Ann Resko (nee Cox) passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 29, 2025 at her Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ home in the presence of family. She was 97.

Born in New York, NY, to the late James and Catherine (nee Piechota) Cox, her mother died shortly after her birth and her father married Catherine's sister, Julia, who would be responsible for raising Catherine and her two older sisters, as well as four additional Cox siblings.

Mrs. Resko graduated from Blessed Sacrament Catholic High School in Manhattan, NY. She met her husband, James J. Resko in Manhattan and the two were married in 1956. They began their life together in Bronx, NY, before settling in Parsippany, NJ in 1961, where they raised three boys.

A devout Roman Catholic, she was a longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle Parish Community in Parsippany, NJ where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and an usher and greeter at Masses.

Following their retirements, Jim and Catherine travelled the world together, primarily to places where their son, Jeffrey was stationed in the United States Army including, Hawaii, Korea, and Japan.  They also travel to Hungary, Ireland, France, Italy, Bosnia, and Alaska.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James J. Resko in 2002; her cherished twelve-year-old son, Stephen Resko in 1971; and five siblings, Helen Vislocky, Claire Shamey, Marie Clark, Gerard Cox, and Margaret Pandolfi.

Catherine was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed by her loving family: her two sons, Paul J. Resko and his wife, Jane of Parsippany, NJ, and Jeffrey J. Resko and his wife, Kumiko of Woodbridge, VA.; a sister, Bernadette Korchak of Pearl River, NY; five grandchildren, Corinne Leake, Stephen Resko, Luke Resko and his wife, Ashley, Mia Resko, and William Pron and his wife, Tiffany; and five great-grandchildren Bailey Pron, Rylie Padgett, Billy Pron, Aydree Pron and Cooper Leake.
