
Obituary of Anne M. Monahan
Anne M. Monahan (nee Connolly), a kind and gentle soul, passed away peacefully Friday morning, May 30, 2025 at her Parsippany, NJ home in the presence of her family. She was 93.
Born and raised in Scranton, PA, Anne came to New Jersey after her graduation from Holy Rosary Catholic High School in Scranton and had lived in North Caldwell, NJ and West Caldwell, NJ before moving to Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ in 1955 after marrying her love, Richard J. Monahan.
Mrs. Monahan had worked as a picker-packer with the Dell Publishing Company of Pine Brook, NJ for many years, retiring 28 years ago. Previously, she worked with the Horizon Personnel Temp Agency.
A devout catholic who had a strong devotion to Our Blessed Mother, Anne was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in Parsippany, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and had volunteered with the Food Pantry and Martha Ministry for countless years.
Anne was a wonderful and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was happiest around her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard J. Monahan Sr. in 1991; a grandson, Andrew Mackey; as well as her three siblings, John Connolly, Paul Connolly, and C. Carol Wilkes.
Anne is survived by her three beloved children, Mary Mackey of Parsippany, Richard J. Monahan, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Budd Lake, and Kathleen Dianuzzo and her husband, Bob of Parsippany; nine cherished grandchildren, Robert Mackey, Richard Mackey, John Mackey, Megan Moschberger, Richard J. Monahan III, Colleen Dianuzzo, Kelly Szollosy, and Nicholas Dianuzzo; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She will also be missed by her nieces, Patricia Sannazzaro and Gay Oku; and her nephew, Joey Wilkes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Monday, June 2, 2025, 3:00pm to 7:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, 1:00pm at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Parsippany. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ.
