
Obituary of Joseph Michael DelGuercio
Joseph M. Del Guercio passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, June 10, 2025 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston following a brief illness. He was 79.
A native of Newark, NJ, Joe's parents, Joseph and Lena (nee Castaldi) Del Guercio both passed at a young age, leaving him in the care of his aunt and uncle Michael and Vera DelGuercio, who raised him as their own. Raised in Belleville, NJ, he had lived in Montville Township, NJ before coming to Caldwell, NJ in 1977.
He had attended Hofstra University.
Joe met his love, the former Mary Ann Laqualia in Belleville, and they were married on September 17, 1967, beginning a love story that would last for nearly 58 years.
Mr. Del Guercio worked as a business development manager with various companies over his career, most recently, The CNY Group of New York, NY, before retiring 6 years ago.
Preceded in death by his adored son, Joseph M. Del Guercio Jr. in 2006; Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann C. DelGuercio (nee Laqualia); two loving daughters, Geralyn A. Campos and her husband, Pedro of Vail, CO, and Carolyn J. Videtich and her husband, Stephen of West Jordan, UT; four siblings Catherine Chirico (the late Anthony) of Beachhaven, NJ, Jovina Corbo (the late Lawrence) of Belleville, NJ, Denise Complitano (the late Anthony) of Belleville, NJ, and Nicholas Del Guercio and his wife Laurel of Chatham, NJ; and four cherished grandchildren, Thomas Videtich, Emelia Videtich, Valentina Campos and Eden Campos.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday, June 16, 2025, 10:30am at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Nutley, NJ. Private cremation will follow. Joseph will be laid to rest with his son at The Prospect Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, NJ at a later date. (There will be NO public Visitation, as per Joe's request.)
