Obituary of Rev. Yi Shin Tsai (蔡一信牧師)

Rev. Yi Shin Tsai (蔡一信牧師) was born on March 3, 1933, a date marked by the repeating presence of the number three, which seemed to symbolize the ever-present guidance of God’s Holy Trinity throughout his life. This number, appearing so often in his journey, was a reflection of his deep and abiding faith in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Over the course of his ministry, he was blessed with the privilege of serving as a pastor in several different countries, spreading the message of God's love and grace far and wide. His ministry touched many hearts in diverse places, including Taiwan, Japan, the United States, and Australia, where he shared the gospel with passion and purpose. His life’s work was a testament to his unwavering dedication to spreading God’s message of love, peace, and salvation. He was not only a pastor but a true shepherd to his congregation, deeply committed to nurturing their spiritual growth and guiding them with the heart of Christ.

Those who knew him remember him as a man of great warmth and kindness. His infectious humor and ready laughter brought joy and lightness to everyone around him. Always approachable and always ready to offer a word of encouragement, he created a deep sense of community within the body of Christ, fostering unity among believers. Through his uplifting spirit and joyful presence, he helped others experience the profound love and unity of God’s family.

His preaching was rooted in the everyday lives of his listeners. He had a remarkable ability to make the gospel both accessible and relatable, offering practical, insightful teachings that allowed people to see how God’s word could be applied in their daily lives. His ministry was never abstract or distant; it was always tangible, compassionate, and full of love.

Surrounded by the love and care of his congregation, he leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, compassion, and laughter. His life was an embodiment of God’s love, a living example of how love, kindness, and unity can truly transform lives.

At the age of 92, he was called home to be with the Lord, where he is now at peace, surrounded by the glory of God’s presence.

one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
