Obituary of Salvatore M. Simonetti

Salvatore M. Simonetti passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 27, 2025 in the presence of his family. He was 92.

Born and raised in Bloomfield, NJ, Mr. Simonetti had lived in the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ, where he raised his family of four sons, before moving to Cedar Knolls, NJ many years ago.

Mr. Simonetti had served in the United States Army before his Honorable Discharge.

A licensed master plumber by trade, Mr. Simonetti was a member of Plumber's Local #24 of West Caldwell, NJ for 68 years. Following his retirement from the union, he served as a licensed plumbing inspector with the municipalities of Sparta, Hanover Township, Morris Township and was still working until recently.

He was a longtime member and treasurer of the Lakeland League of Master Plumbers, the Free and Accepted Masons Colonial Prospect Lodge # 24, and the South Boonton Field Club.

Sal was an avid golfer and a course ranger at the Knoll Country Club in Parsippany, NJ. He also enjoyed woodworking, playing cards regularly with friends and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He continued to ride his motorcycle until the age of 92.

Mr. Simonetti was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Josephine (nee Nicosia) Simonetti, and a son, Michael Simonetti and his wife, Lisa. He is survived by his three loving sons, Salvatore Simonetti and his wife, Caryn of Whitehouse, NJ, Mark Simonetti and his wife, Sheri of Cedar Knolls, NJ, and Matthew Simonetti of Lake Hiawatha, NJ; his dear sisters, Roseanne Rinaldi of Bloomfield, NJ, and Valencia DiNapoli of Inwood, NY; five beloved grandchildren, Nicole Simonetti, Taylor Simonetti, Salvatore Simonetti, Deana Simonetti, and Nicholas Simonetti; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Ella. He is also survived by his significant other, Linda McClelland of West Milford, NJ, with whom he shared many enjoyable years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Monday, July 7, 2025, 4:00pm to 8:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. The Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, 10:00am in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
