Obituary of Charles Coffin

Charles Coffin, age 75, raised in Clifton, later of Parsippany and Newton. Cherished husband of 48 years to Jeannette, brother to Lucille, father to Scott, Ryan, Charlie. Predeceased by his children Donna and John to whom he remained a devoted father. Grandfather to Olivia and Maeve and Pop Pop to Connor. Father in law to Clare, Heather and Brittany. Brother in law to Bob. Uncle to Jimmy, Gina and Jarrod.

Not a man of many words, but of actions. We all knew him as a strong, proud veteran, skilled tradesman, avid Yankee fan and talented gardener. His wife and children knew him to be the unquestioned man of the house, his grandchildren as a man that used gentle means to sculpt their souls.

Everyone that knew Charlie knew of his broad shoulders and strong back. We all thought it was from carrying lumber or perhaps swinging his hammer. It took us years to understand they were from carrying his family and friends. We thank you for this and are forever blessed that you have been in our lives.
