Mary Ellen Kegel (née Van Aggele), age 85, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, in Morristown, NJ. Born on September 29, 1940, in Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Mary Van Aggele and Harry Van Aggele.

Mary Ellen spent her early years in Oaklyn, NJ which laid the foundation for a life marked by dedication and care. She had also been a resident of Stanhope, NJ and Dansville, NY, before coming to Montville Township, NJ in 2020.

In addition to her loving husband William F. Kegel; Mary Ellen is survived by her two beloved children, William B. Kegel and his wife, Melissa Berardi-Kegel of Jacksonville, FL, and Susan Lomonaco and her husband, Douglas of Rockaway, NJ; and her cherished grandson, Avery Lomonaco of Rockaway, NJ.

She was an avid reader who found fulfillment in creative pursuits such as knitting and quilting, crafting each piece with care and attention. Mary Ellen also enjoyed square dancing with her husband, bowling, volunteering at the local hospital, and traveling. Embracing both activity and leisure with quiet enthusiasm.

Mary Ellen's life was defined by compassion and quiet strength. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Mary Ellen's Life on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 12:30pm to 3:30pm at the Lake Parsippany Clubhouse, 701 Lakeshore Drive, Parsippany, NJ 07054.
