Obituary of Dorothy Trypuc
Dorothy “Dottie” Trypuc, 94, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025.
Born in 1931 in Kearny, New Jersey, Dottie was the daughter of James and Loretta Kinsella. She grew up in Harrison, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed her deep sense of faith and family.
In 1949 Dottie met the love of her life, Anthony Trypuc. After a whirlwind romance, they married in 1951 and made their first home together in Harrison. Not long after, Tony was called to serve in the Korean War and was stationed in Germany, and Dottie patiently awaited his safe return. After 15 long months apart, Anthony came home, and together they settled down to begin the adventure of raising their family.
Dottie was a devoted and loving mother to three children, creating a home filled with love. Life brought both blessings and challenges, but her unwavering faith guided her through every chapter.
She worked for many years at Prudential Insurance and later with AT&T.
In 1997 Dottie and Anthony purchased their first home and moved to Montville to be closer to her daughter. In 1999 Anthony passed away and Dottie had to find a new way of life without him. It was then, she became an active member of the Montville Seniors and a devoted parishioner and volunteer at Saint Ann Parish. Her energy and kindness were felt by all who knew her. Dottie loved to dance, never turned down a good game of bingo or cards, and found great joy in traveling and discovering new places.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony, and by her children Anthony C. and Susan McSulla. We find comfort in knowing that this week’s reunion in Heaven is one for the ages.
Dottie leaves behind her loving daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Joseph DeNicola; her three grandsons Nicholas DeNicola and David and Michael McSulla and many more dear family and friends. Her siblings Elizabeth Wetmore, Bernice Kelly, Latherine McGee and James Kinsella Jr. passed before her.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 16th from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 17th at 10 am at Saint Ann Parish, 781 Smith Road, Parsippany. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
