Obituary of Eddie Guzman

Eddie Guzman passed away Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family at his daughter's home in Hopatcong. He was 79.
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Eddie had lived in California, Washington, and Riverdale, NY before coming to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany 49 years ago.
Eddie met the love of his life, the former Georgina Paz in the Bronx. The couple were married on January 11, 1969 and spent 56 wonderful years together. They were inseparable.
Mr. Guzman had worked as a dispatcher and loader with the United States Postal Service in Newark for many years. Following his retirement from the postal service, he had worked as a school bus driver, which he enjoyed very much.
Eddie enjoyed traveling, music, cooking, going down the shore, spending time with friends, and most of all, his grandchildren. He loved playing with them, taking them on vacation, introducing them to new foods, and especially watching football or basketball with them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Georgina "Ginny" Guzman; a beloved daughter, Vanessa Sanchez, and her husband, John of Hopatcong, NJ; and five cherished grandchildren, John Jr., Gabrielle, Christopher, Xavier, and Zachary. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Doris Tirado and Tere Diaz.
The Funeral Mass for Eddie will be held privately. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, December 4, 2025, 3:00pm to 7:00pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ.
