Obituary of Barbara P. Benucci
It is with profound sadness that the family of Barbara Palma Benucci (Lanno) of Towaco, New Jersey, announces her unexpected passing on November 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband, children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Clara (Vitiello) Lanno; Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ronald A. Benucci, and three cherished children: Christine Rivera and her husband, Alex of Long Valley, New Jersey; Stephanie Benucci of Flemington, New Jersey; and Joseph Benucci and his wife, Amy of Okatie, South Carolina. Barbara was the adoring grandmother of Christian Rivera and his wife, Kristen; Giulianna Rivera; Samantha Schnitzlein; Anthony Schnitzlein; Isabella Benucci; Joey Benucci; and Nicolas Benucci.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, aunt, great-aunt, and dear friend, Barbara’s devotion to family was the heart of her world. This love shone most clearly through her marriage to Ronald, the love of her life, and the legacy of the family they created together. She was a gracious homemaker, an excellent cook, and a nurturing caregiver, but her greatest joy was simply being surrounded by those she loved. On any given day, she could be found busying herself in the kitchen and the garden, or offering words of wisdom and encouragement to her grandchildren. Her warmth, strength, and kindness touched everyone she met, and the love she poured into others will live on for generations.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Barbara’s life during visitation at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service in Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 2:00 -4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 4, 2025, 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Montville, New Jersey. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, East Hanover, New Jersey.
