Dear Cindy's family,
I am heartbroken to learn of Cindy's passing. She was one of my dearest friends and I will miss her deeply.
Cindy and I met at Top Dog Obedience School about three years ago, both of us with rambunctious large breed dogs in tow. We went through many rounds of Novice class together with Linda, and what started as shared struggles quickly blossomed into a cherished friendship. Those hours we spent training our dogs became the foundation of something truly special.
Cindy was the kindest and most helpful friend anyone could ask for. There were times I was ready to give up, convinced that Magnus would never "sit for exam" without causing trouble! But Cindy never doubted him—or me. Her encouragement and staunch belief kept me going when I needed it most. I truly don't think I would have persevered without her.
The coffees and lunches we shared at "The After" are among my most treasured memories. I can still hear her infectious giggle.
Cindy would greet every dog and handler at Top Dog by name and was always a willing helper at matches and in class. She had a special gift of making everyone feel welcome and supported. Cindy contributed so much to the collaborative spirit at Top Dog, and it's one of the best places because of people like her.
I will miss her friendship, her kindness, and that wonderful laugh more than words can express. She touched my life in ways I'll carry with me always.
She is missed.
With deepest sympathy,
Ann S.

I learned of her passing today and I was beside myself, shaken and numbed, asking “How could this be?” I immediately thought of her vitality and undivided love of her Doberman. Such attention to and care of her canine inspired me to emulate this most generous and thoughtful dog owner and handler. I considered her like a motherly figure, if not an older empathetic and prudent sister. I recall the time my border collie was distracted prior to a competition trial. Cynthia offered me some of her treats for my canine in order to have a quick pre-trial review of commands to redirect his misguided focus. Another glimpse into her personage brought me back to the time she offered me consolation when my border collie lost a competition trial. Cynthia then had encouraged me with “He will win the next time. Today is not his day. Be patient with him.” Cynthia’s loss from us and among us has me feel as if the world is not right today, that somehow the world is less whole with her departure. In the meantime, I with my husband will pray for her this evening during our evening prayers for her safe passage to Heaven as well as order a mass service be given for the repose of her soul.

My condolences to Cindy's family. She was a bright and energetic person. I first met Cindy about 10 years ago when she came to Lake Hiawatha and had the pleasure of renewing our acquaintance three years ago. She was always passionate about her dogs. She will be missed.
