Please share a memory of Beilei to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Beilei Zhang Shen, 96, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, December 1, 2025, at her home in Parsippany, New Jersey.

The eldest of five siblings, Beilei Zhang was born on July 21, 1929, in Shanghai, China, to Desheng Zhang and Wencai Shen (unrelated to her future husband). She attended Jinling Girls' High School in Nanjing and later graduated from Shanghai Lixin Accounting College in 1951. She began her career in accounting shortly thereafter. On December 12, 1957, she married Eric A-C Shen, with whom she shared more than 60 years of marriage.

Her life and career were disrupted for extended periods of time, including during the “Cultural Revolution”, when she was severely persecuted.

In 1983, Mr. and Mrs. Shen immigrated to the United States. Mrs. Shen worked as an accountant for Sino-American Machinery Corp. in Fort Lee, New Jersey, and proudly became a U.S. citizen in the late 1990s. She made Parsippany her home for the past two decades.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Mrs. Shen was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration in New York City. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Mrs. Shen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eric Shen, in 2018. She is survived by her sons, Bill Shen and his wife, Xiao Fang, of Randolph, and Brian Shen and his wife, Yin Ji, of Princeton, New Jersey; her sister, Rongrong Zhang, of Portland, Oregon; her brother, Xiaokang Zhang, of Shanghai, China; and her cherished grandchildren — Renee Shen, Karie Shen, and Gina Shen.

Funeral services and cremation were held privately. The family asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
