Obituary of Lois Guidone
Lois Guidone (nee Cairoli) passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026. She was 81.
Born in Paterson to the late Joseph and Carolyn, Lois was the middle of three daughters. She grew up surrounded by family and friendships that she treasured. After completing her schooling, she married James Guidone. Together, they settled in Ringwood, where they built a life and raised their daughter, Jennifer.
Lois spent many years working at Trip Distributors, where she dedicated decades to the company and made lasting friendships. Her greatest happiness, though, came from her family. She was a loving mother and a proud, caring Mema and Mom-Mom to her three grandchildren.
Lois lived with a spark that never dimmed. She enjoyed many vacations over the years, treasured laughter-filled shopping sprees with her sisters and “the girls,” and never missed an opportunity to try a new restaurant. She loved her garden and spent countless hours bringing it to life and taming its wildness. Quirky, eclectic, adventurous, and full of love, Lois embraced life in her own unique way.
Several years ago, Lois faced significant health challenges with remarkable courage. During this difficult time, the enduring bond between Lois and James shone brightly. Though life’s path brought changes, Jimmy stepped forward with unwavering compassion and commitment. He devoted himself to her care, ensuring she was surrounded by comfort, dignity, and love. With the steadfast support of family, he did everything possible to create comfortable and joyful days.
Lois is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, James Guidone; her beloved daughter, Jennifer Volosin, and son-in-law, Robert; her cherished grandchildren, Dezi DeFazio, Jonny DeFazio, and Bobby Volosin; her sisters, Carole LaValle and Janice Olsen; her nieces and nephews, George LaValle, Carrie Fairhurst, Eric Olsen, Bryan Olsen, and Stephen Olsen; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 4 – 7 pm at the S. J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 17 th at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
