Obituary of Donald J. Verost

Donald J. Verost, 98, of Palisades Park, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026.

Born to the late Jacob and Lillian Verost, Donald was one of twelve children George, John,  Jacob, Gertrude, Jean, Mary, Frank, Robert, Wayne, Velma,and William. He was a lifelong resident of Palisades Park. 

After his schooling, he joined the United States Navy serving his country during WWII. Following his honorable discharge, he began a long career in the trucking industry. He also was a state detective for many years. 

Donald shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Ann Marie (Kearns) Verost. The two were married for 61 years before her passing in 2020, a testament to their love. 

Donald was a proud Mason and enjoyed cooking and baking.  He loved spending time with his family, especially those who called him PawPaw. 

Predeceased by his wife Ann Marie; he is survived by his step son  Mark Loioco, daughter in law Elaine Loioco, granddaughter Rozeann Loioco,great grandchildren Luca and Ashlan.  Also survived by his siblings Mary Verost, Robert Verost and Velma Miller; and many dear nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12th from 2-6pm at the funeral home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 13 at 11 am at St. Peter the Apostle Parish, Parsippany.  Burial to follow at George Washington Memorial Park. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the good work of the American Cancer Society.
