Obituary of Dolores Grace Riccardi

Dolores Grace Riccardi, 93, of Lake Hiawatha, passed away peacefully following a brief illness.

Born to the late Michael and Sabina Gentile, Dolores lived a beautiful life filled with hard work, devotion to family, a deep faith and a genuine love for those around her. She married Dominick Riccardi, and raised their family in Lake Hiawatha, where they settled in 1967 and where Dolores remained for the rest of her life. Tragically, Dom passed suddenly in 1994.

Dolores worked throughout her life in a variety of roles, always taking pride in serving others and building lasting relationships along the way. She owned and operated a cleaning company, worked as an aide at Troy Hills Center caring for residents with kindness, and served as a crossing guard, helping local children arrive safely to and from school each day. Later in life, she enjoyed her time working at Alfred Dunner, where she especially appreciated finding a good bargain and leaving with a stylish new outfit.

Dolores was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Parsippany. She was active with the Golden Age Seniors and enjoyed the trips with friends. Whether playing cards, gathering with loved ones, or relaxing in her living room watching her favorite game shows, Dolores found happiness in life's simple pleasures.

Above all else, Dolores loved her family. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by them. Her children, relatives, and friends filled her heart with pride and happiness. Dolores was predeceased by her husband, Dominick Riccardi; her brothers, Anthony, Ralph, and Philip Gentile; and her sister, Mary Gentile.

She is survived by her loving sons, Michael Riccardi and Dominick Riccardi and his wife, Suzanne, grandson Eric Mosca (Rhiana); great grandchildren Scarlett, Zephrin and Parker; and many dear relatives, neighbors, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31st, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held on Monday, June 1st, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
