Obituary of Judith Ann Cimis

Judith Ann “Judy” Cimis (Manfra), 87, passed away in Morristown, New Jersey, following a prolonged illness.

Born on November 4, 1938, in Patterson, New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Anna Marie Manfra.

A graduate of Fair Lawn High School in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, Judy married the love of her life, James “Jim” Cimis, on September 6, 1956. Together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.

Judy was a devoted stay-at-home mother to her three children and a loving wife who poured her heart into her family. She was a strong advocate for her dearly loved son, John, who had Down Syndrome. Judy thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother to her six grandchildren.

An excellent cook, she enjoyed showering everyone with delicious homemade Italian meals. Her Pizza Gaina, the traditional Italian Easter meat pie, was a special family favorite that brought everyone together. She also found joy in crocheting.

An active member of St. Peter’s the Apostle Church in Parsippany, New Jersey, Judy’s faith and church community were important parts of her life.

She was predeceased by her husband James Cimis, her son John James Cimis, her sister Elena Nord, and her parents.

Judy is survived by her daughters Lori Lusardi and her husband Terry, and Anna Marie Tucker and her husband David; her sister Paula Avanti and her husband JR; her grandchildren Stephanie Lusardi, Jessica Lusardi, Amanda Ziola and her husband Joel, Brady Tucker and his wife Melanie, Elizabeth Williamson and her husband Colby, and Payton Tucker; and her great-grandchildren Benjamin, Coleman and Reed Tucker, and Marcus Williamson.

Funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd at 2pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s memory to Special Olympics.
