Obituary of Carol C. Hendricks

Carol C. Hendricks passed away peacefully Sunday morning, June 28, 2026 at her home in Rockaway Township, NJ surrounded by the love of her family. She was 91.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, Carol was raised in Manhattan, NY. Her parents bought a summer bungalow in Lake Hiawatha home for $1000 when she was one year old. She and her family have been part of the history of Lake Hiawatha since then. She and her husband moved to Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ in 1961. Carol moved to Fox Hills in Rockaway Township in 2021.

Mrs. Hendricks graduated from Mother Cabrini High School in Manhattan, NY and subsequently earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from William Paterson University in 1974.

She met her husband, William A. Hendricks on a canoe trip while living in New York, NY. They shared many laughs about that canoe tipping over through the years. The couple married on February 1, 1958 and spent 62 years together before his passing in 2020.

During her early years in Parsippany, Carol raised four children and had also worked as a teacher at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School. She later worked as an analyst with the Nabisco Company of East Hanover, and later Parsippany, NJ before retiring 21 years ago.

Carol cherished her family. They were her joy of her life. She loved to have a listening ear and wanted to make everyone feel special.

A longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, and the parish's Rosary Altar Society, she was an avid musician. She played the piano and the saxophone, and was a former member of the New Horizons Senior Band.

In addition to her beloved husband William A. Hendricks, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sarah (nee Sherman); and her two dear sisters, Dorothy Fleming and Virginia Brown. She is survived by her four loving children, William G. Hendricks and his wife, Debbie of Stanhope, NJ, Steven C. Hendricks of Montville, NJ, Patricia Allocca of Parsippany, NJ, and John R. Hendricks and his wife, Greer of Manhattan, NY; and five adored grandchildren, Christopher Allocca, Nicholas Allocca, Victoria Hendricks, Paige Hendricks, and Alexander Hendricks.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 9:00am to 11:00am at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30am at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Parsippany, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
