Obituary of Janine Shaw-Fleitstra

Janine E. Shaw-Fleitstra, 61, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, surrounded by her family, following a courageous three-year battle with illness. She faced each day with remarkable strength.

Born in Oradell, New Jersey, Janine graduated from West Orange High School. In her younger years, she was an accomplished athlete who enjoyed running track and figure skating.  Janine’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was blessed to meet the love of her life, John, and they were married on August 16, 1998. Through their marriage, Janine lovingly embraced John’s son as her own, and their family was further blessed with the birth of their daughter.

A devoted wife and mother, Janine dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, never missing a sporting event, milestone, or opportunity to cheer on those she loved. She was also a compassionate caregiver, caring for family members throughout the years, always placing the needs of others before her own.

Janine worked as a paralegal with several law firms throughout her life. She genuinely enjoyed her work and treasured the many friendships and relationships she formed over the years.

Janine was fortunate to have been surrounded by a loving family and to have formed meaningful connections with her extended family over the years. These relationships brought her immense happiness and enriched her life in countless ways.

Predeceased by many dear family members; she leaves behind her devoted husband and daughter John and Fallon; and her dear mother Renee Brenner and many more adored relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25 th from 1 pm – 5 pm at the funeral home.
