
Obituary of Dorothy L. Weisert
Dorothy L. Weisert (nee Altman) passed away at her home on July 28. She was 97.
Born to the late Edward and Dorothy, Dorothy was raised in Teaneck, New Jersey. After high school she continued her education, graduating from Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx.
As a young woman, she met Warren C. Weisert, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. The two married and began their life together, eventually welcoming three children and making Hillside, New Jersey their home.
In her younger years, Dorothy devoted herself to homemaking and raising her family. After Warren’s untimely passing, she headed to work at Newark airport as an agent with United and US Air airlines for many years to maintain her home and family. In retirement, Dorothy enjoyed accomplished ballroom dancing for more than a decade.
Dorothy was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Parish. She lived a long and meaningful life centered around her family and her Catholic faith.
Dorothy is survived by her three children, Roy Weisert and his wife, Irene; Doris Martin and her husband, Roy; and Thomas Weisert; her grandchildren Maegan, Kevin, Melissa, Leslie, and Rachel; and many great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Warren in 1978, and her sister Gwendolyn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 1, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Church, Parsippany. Interment will follow in the Altman family plot at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, New York.
