Sister Mary Ann Boyle, 79, formerly Sr. Patricia Rose, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died April 6, 2013 at Saint Mary of the Assumption Convent, Elizabeth, NJ.
Sister Mary Ann was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the daughter of the late James and Anna Agnes (Finn) Boyle. She entered the Sisters of Charity on September 6, 1953 and was a member for 60 years.
She graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ with a B.A. degree in English.
Sister Mary Ann was an educator in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Tenafly, NJ; St. Francis School, Ridgefield Park, NJ; St. George School, Paterson, NJ; Mother Seton School, Union City, NJ; Epiphany School, Cliffside Park, NJ; and Sacred Heart School, Jersey City, NJ. While living at St. Aloysius Convent, Jersey City She was a volunteer at St. Joseph Food Pantry, Jersey City. While Living at St. Mary of the Assumption Convent, she was a volunteer at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Elizabeth.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her sisters Margaret Lenahan, Eileen Daum, and Patricia Abrams; her brothers-in-law, Eugene Lenahan and Richard Daum; several nieces and nephews, and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, James Boyle, and her sisters Catherine Spurrell and Ann Free.
