Obituary of JOSEPHINE SOMERA PARUNGAO

Josephine Somera Parungao passed away Monday morning, April 22, 2013 at Clara Maas Medical Center in Belleville. She was 50. Born and raised in Makati, Philippines, she was a longtime resident before immigrating to the United States in 1988, settling in the Pine Brook section of Montville Township. Mrs. Parungao earned her BS in accounting from Centroescolar University in the Philippines. She had worked as a pharmacist technician at Medco in Parsippany before becoming ill. Mrs. Parungao was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Parsippany. She is survived by her loving husband, Raul Parungao; her beloved daughter, Reza Parungao; and her dear mother, Teodora Laureta Somera. Josephine was one of sixteen children. Also surviving are her siblings Constancia, Alfredo, Nazario, Ricardo, Erlinda, Thelma, Elsa, Virginia, Deirdre, Samuel, Danilo, and Anastacia. She was preceded in death by her father Florencio Somera Sr.; and three siblings, Narciso, Florencio Jr., and Nelson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
