Obituary of SISTER DAVID MARIE CREHAN

Sister David Marie Crehan, 80, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth, NJ. Sister David Marie was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She entered the Sisters of Charity on April 2, 1950 and was a member for 63 years. Sister David Marie graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, New Jersey with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. Sister David Marie served in the education ministry in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher at St. Anastasia School, Teaneck; Holy Cross School, Harrison; St. Matthew School, Ridgefield; and Holy Rosary School, Elizabeth. She was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth Hospital (Trinitas Hospital), Elizabeth. She moved to St. Mary of the Assumption Convent in Elizabeth in 1993, where she resided until her death. Sister David Marie was the daughter of the late David and Mary (Dowd) Crehan and was predeceased by her brother, David Crehan. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity, her sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Tom Gaughan, Walpole, MA, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Crehan, many nieces and nephews, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
