Victoria Merckling-Sheedy (nee Masone), 87, died Monday, August 12, 2013 at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Boonton Township. Born In Brooklyn, N. Y., she had lived in Queens, NY before coming to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany 20 years ago. Mrs. Merckling-Sheedy had worked as a secretary with the AON Insurance Co in New York for many years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Church, the Lake Hiawatha Seniors and the Friendship Club all of Parsippany. She was preceded in death by her husbands Charles Merckling in 1991 and John Sheedy in 2010. Survivors include her loving son Wayne Merckling and his wife Susan of Parsippany, and the children of her late husband John, Patricia Kern and Joan Florio. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Merry Heart Nursing Home of Boonton Township, 199 Powerville Road, Boonton Twonship, NJ 07005.
