Sister Rose Vincent DePrinzio, a Sister of Charity of St. Elizabeth, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at St. Anne Villa in Convent Station. She was 85.
Sister Rose Vincent was born in Rillton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James and Rose (DeLuca) DePrinzio. She entered the Sisters of Charity on October 2, 1949 and was a member for 63 years.
Sister Rose Vincent graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education; from Jersey City State College, Jersey City, NJ with an M. A. degree in Education and from Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT with an M.A. degree in Religious Education. Sister Rose Vincent served in the education ministry in New Jersey and Connecticut. In NJ, she served as a teacher in St. Bridget School, Jersey City and St. Stephen School, Kearney. She was Principal in St. Anne School, Jersey City. Sister Rose Vincent then served as Treasurer of the first Northern Province Council, Woodbridge, CT. She was a religious educator in St. John Religious Education Center, Stamford, CT; St. Teresa Religious Education Center, Trumbull, CT and at St. Joseph Parish, Keyport NJ. She was an Administrator at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ and at Mother Seton Residence, Montclair, NJ. She was a Pastoral Associate in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Ridgewood, NJ. Sister Rose Vincent moved to Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ in 2006 where she resided until her death.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her brother Angelo (Marie), Bergenfield; her sisters Sue DeParto, Lyndhurst and Mary Facciolla, California; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her sister Rose Starace.
