Sister Rosemary Campbell (Sister Mary Anthony), a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ at the age of 95.
Sister Rosemary was born in Norwood, Massachusetts, the daughter of Edward and Rose (O'Brien) Campbell. She entered the Sisters of Charity on October 11, 1947 and was a member for 65 years.
Sister Rosemary graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ with a B.S. degree in elementary education.
Sister Rosemary served in the education ministry in New Jersey and in pastoral care in New York and New Jersey. She served as a teacher at St. Vincent Martyr School, Madison; St. Lucy School, Jersey City and in St. Joseph Elementary & High School, Paterson. She worked in the payroll office and as a chapel sacristan at the Convent of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station and was a staff member in Bethlehem Center, Chester. She served in pastoral care in Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY She then served in pastoral care in St. Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ and retired there in 2006.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity, a brother, Edward J. Campbell, Jr., Duxbury, MA; a sister-in-law, Nettie Campbell, Norwood, MA; a brother-in-law, Joseph Foti of Norwood, MA; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
