My mom Rosalina Deguzman-Montgomery is her peer (they were both born on June 1927). They were both teachers in Caloocan City.
Mrs. Soriano eventually got hired (late 1960s) by my Aunt Mrs.Modesta G. Boquiren who was then the Superintendent of Caloocan City Schools, as Personnel Executive before she migrated to US.
My mom and her finally got reconnected in the Bay Area, California during the late 90s until late 2000s before Mrs. Soriano left back for the Philippines (Jaen, Nueva Ecija) for good with her daughter.
My mom and her as well as another Friend Juliana Santiago (now deceased also) used to go to River Rock Casino often.
I vividly remember Mrs.Soriano as being caring, loving and sooo "sosi" (high class socialite) very pretty yet humble (she was chauffeured in a Mercedes Benz).
She was so fond of me then and always attended to me whenever there were parties during my aunt's so many social events when I was in High School.
My mom (who's now turning 92yo this 2019) were reminiscing about yesterdays that caused me to search for Mrs.Soriano and of course we were both saddened to find out that she's no longer around...Oh life!
Anyhow, here's to express our profound belated condolence to the family.
