Sister Audrey Boettcher, 81, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ.
Sister Audrey was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, the daughter of Alfred W. and Theresa M. (Levangie) Boettcher. She entered the Sisters of Charity on October 2, 1949 and was a member for 64 years.
Sister Audrey graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ with a B.S. degree in Education and from LaSalle College, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with an M.A. degree in Religious Studies. Sister Audrey was an Educator in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher at St. Joseph School, Jersey City; Our Lady of Sorrows School, South Orange; St. Brendan School, Clifton; St. Vincent Martyr School, Madison and St. Thomas School, Bloomfield. She was Director of Religious Education in Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Whippany; Administrator at Maris Stella Retreat House, Harvey Cedars; Assistant in the Pelican Shop, Xavier Center; Sacristan of Holy Family Chapel and Office Volunteer at Convent Station. She moved to Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station in 2012 where she resided until her death.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; and three sisters, Lucy Webb of TN, Elizabeth Ochs of MA and Mary Lima of VT and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand nephews.
