Eleanor filled this world with a zestful spirit and passion that will be greatly missed. I first met Eleanor at the 2006 UUA General Assembly in St. Louis, MO where she zipped around in her automated wheel chair with great enthusiasm promoting the UU-UNO. I then had the pleasure of following in her large footsteps when I became coordinator of the UU-UNO Envoy Program, an initiative she helped build from the ground up. Eleanor was always encouraging and supportive as I tried to follow in her large foot steps. She will certainly be missed. I hope to be able to contribute as much soulful energy to the world as she did.

Please accept our sincerest condolences in the loss of Eleanor. Whenever I saw here in Upstate NY she was so sweet, and I always knew I'd get into a good conversation with her. I am thankful to have met her.

Eleanor Mason filled many roles over the course of her full life: a teacher, friend, counselor, traveler, singer, athlete, avid reader, mother, sister, and my Gram. She loved her family with "oceans of love." That love gave her a passion for life even into her last months. She loved people, travel, singing, learning... Gram had a stubborn determination, a will to live, and didn't disguise her opinions. She believed strongly in each cause she supported, and did her best to share her convictions with others. She touched the lives of so many. Gram did everything with excellence, my mom never could make scrambled eggs quite the same way as Gram... (though she is a wonderful cook too.) She was generous, and gave not only of her love, but also helped out her family many times. While it is sad to say goodbye, I am so thankful for all the years I had to know her, for the lessons she taught me, and for the memories I can cherish.

Eleanor gave me the best friends I will ever know in Jeannie, Peter, and Barbara. She helped to save my life as a baby! I had a very high fever as a baby not too long after my family moved to Morris Plains from Lancaster. Ma did not have doctor yet since we just moved there. I was so sick and had seizures and Ma turned to our next door neighbor, Eleanor. Eleanor called Dr. Huster and proceeded to place me in bath tub filled with ice and saved my life! She was a beautiful soul and I am so grateful to call her my friend. just recently, after we lost Ma, she asked if she could be my Godmother. I will never forget that.

I have so many memories, I do not know where to start. I will simply say Thanks for loving all of us and for giving us a wonderful dinner party so that we could all be together one more time. I will never forget the laughs.
