It has been three weeks since we have lost a wonderful man. A loving husband to Gina, a Father to Jennifer, Stacy and David, a Grandfather to Owen, a son ,a brother, a brother in law ,a uncle and a friend to so many.
Where did the time go? We always seem to think, I'll do it later or it can wait until tomorrow. There is a song by Garth Brooks , "If Tomorrow Never Comes" would the ones you loved know how much you loved them?
What if tomorrow never comes? In reality tomorrow will never come for so many people each and every day. What do we have left? How do we move on with our daily routine? How does life go on when we lose someone we love so dearly?
When I was younger people would say tomorrow is NOT promised to anyone of us. It never made sense to me until I grew up and started to see family and friends pass on. The older I get the more intense the statement gets.
I was blessed to know Emil over the past 7 years. I was so very blessed to meet a person who was so selfless, a kind, caring, gentleman. Gentleman are very hard to find these days. Emil had so many positive qualities. His knowledge about so many things. Everything from the computer at his job to the lawn mower at his home. His ability to listen and help people. Emil was a quiet man who never boasted about himself. He was always so quick to lend a helping hand, and slow to move his hand until he knew that you had what you needed.
The love he shared with so many people was absolutely incredible. The love He and Gina shared and still share today is not a love that all people ever experience. They were best friends, a quality we all would be lucky to find once in a lifetime. He worried about Gina more than he did himself especially during his sickness. Brings tears to my eyes EVERYTIME!
When you looked at Emil and he spoke about any of his family you could actually see the pride and love that he had for each person. His grandson was his main man. When he spoke about Owen his face lit up and the smile was from ear to ear! What a proud father and Grandfather!!!!
Again I can go on and on about all of the qualities Emil possessed , but to sum it up, we should all strive to be the man he was.
One thing that stood out in my mind as I said Goodbye for now to Emil was when he told me that if it wasn't meant to be a cure for him he knows that he helped make a stepping stone for many others who had to encounter a battle with cancer. That to me sums up the type of person Emil always was. He always thought of others before himself!
So if tomorrow never comes will people be able to say the same about you?
Never take the present for granted always make the best of each day. As my sister in law, Gina would say, "Every day we find something to laugh about!" even during the toughest times of Emil's sickness Gina made sure there was laughter and happiness in their home! Enjoy life today, because yesterday is gone - And tomorrow is never promised.
As we all grieve in our own personal ways, I would like to express my gratitude to GOD, who so graciously shared His son, Emil with us. Although we may feel that timing was not enough we must remain in faith that it was His perfect timing because Gods plans are greater then ours.
Your life is your message to the world. Make sure it's inspiring.
Emil sure did, and when His Tomorrow never came here on Earth but in Heaven His loved ones knew how much he loved them and they all know how very much they loved him.

It's the little things, the small, everyday occurrences that you'll remember. The laughs, the stories, the smiles. And even though it seems like you can never recover from your loss, it is these very memories that will help push the pain away and bring back the smiles.
