Charlotte Kathleen Hanig (nee Fischer) passed away Sunday evening, June 15. 23014 at Morris View Nursing Home in Morris Township. She was 91.
Born in Bronx, NY, Mrs. Hanig was raised in Brooklyn, NY, and had also lived in Washington Heights, NY before moving to Parsippany where she had lived for 28 years.
She had worked as an educational assistant with the New York City Board of Education for 15 years before retiring in 1987. Previously, she had been a professional singer; she sang with the Buddy Rich Band, the Al Goodman Band, and the City Chorus of New York.
Mrs. Hanig was a former member of the Lake Hiawatha Seniors and the Baldwin Oaks Seniors.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Sussman Hanig in 2000. Survivors include her children; Gary Leroy Hanig and his wife Ilene of Staten Island, NY, Enid Sue Isakoff and her husband Stephen of Mount Arlington, and Robert Lawrence Hanig and his wife Milada of Lincoln, MA.; seven grandchildren, Larry, Jody, Robin, Scott, Eve, Carl, and Stacey; and eleven grandchildren.
