Obituary of SISTER MARY CELESTE CONTI

Sister Mary Celeste Conti, a Sister of Charity of St. Elizabeth passed away suddenly, Monday July 14, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She was 83. Sister Mary Celeste was born in Bayonne, New Jersey, the daughter of Nicholas and Angelina (DiGiorgio) Conti. She entered the Sisters of Charity on October 2, 1948 and was a member for 65 years. Sister Mary Celeste graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, New Jersey with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. Sister Mary Celeste served in Education and Parish Ministries in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher at Sacred Heart School, Bloomfield; Epiphany School, Cliffside Park; St. Joseph School, Jersey City and St. Anne School, Jersey City. She was in ministry to the elderly at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Lakehurst since 2010. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her dear friends Sister Marian Therese Boudreau and Clara DiNuzzo and many cousins. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to the Sisters of Charity Development Fund, P.O. Box 476, Convent Station, NJ, 07961-0476.
