Sister Ann Michele Texido, 79, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Wednesday morning, July 23, 2014 at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ.
Sister Ann Michele was born in Union City, NJ, the daughter of Albert and Caroline Eleanor (Aufenanger) Texido. She entered the Sisters of Charity on September 6, 1953 and was a member for 60 years.
Sister Ann Michele graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ with a B.A. degree in Latin and from St. Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri with an M.A. degree in Latin Language. Sister Ann Michele served in the education ministry in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher at St. Margaret of Scotland School, Morristown. She was a teacher and a Vice-Principal at De Paul Catholic High School, Wayne. At the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, she was Assistant Dean of Women, Dean of Women, Financial Aid Officer, Dean of Financial Aid & Admissions and Director of Financial Aid. She was Provincial Treasurer of the Western Province. She then served as Coordinator of Administrative Services, Generalate, Convent Station, and Assistant Business Manager at Christ the King Preparatory School, Newark. In 2011, she became the Secretary at the Academy of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station. She moved to Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station in 2014 where she resided until her death.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her sisters, Alice Riciliano and her husband John and Ellen Hughes and her husband Charles; her sister-in-law, Trudy Texido; nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brother Frank Texido and her sister, Dolores Ellersick.
