Jorge E. Salazar passed away Sunday morning, August 3. 2014 at the Vitas Hospice at John F. Kennedy Hospital in Stratford, NJ surrounded by his family. He was 58.
Born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, he immigrated to the United States in 1980 and became a naturalized citizen. He had lived in Randolph before coming to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany two years ago.
Mr. Salazar had worked as a mail room clerk with the Merck Pharmaceutical Company in Summit before becoming disabled due to his illness.
He is survived by his wife Maxima (nee Pena) Salazar; a son, Joshua Salazar at home; three step-daughters, Madeline Cedeno of Bloomfield, Cindy Quero of Dover, and Charlotte Quero of Florham Park; his mother, Emma (nee Granda) Salazar of Ecuador; and eight siblings, Fernando Salazar, Cesar Salazar, Edgar Salazar, Edwin Salazar, Emma Melendez, Clever Salazar, Pablo Salazar, and Juan Salazar.
