Amanda Tai Schwab passed away peacefully Sunday morning, August 17, 2014 at Overlook Hospital Hospital in Summit following a valiant battle with Angiosarcoma. She was 22.
Born in Belleville, Amanda was raised in Rockaway and had resided there before coming to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany 3 years ago.
She was a graduate of Morris Knolls High School where she was a talented artist and focused on Advanced Art. She was currently a junior at Montclair State University where she was majoring in Film. Amanda also worked part-time as a hostess at Applebee's Grill in Parsippany.
Amanda was a popular, happy girl who touched many lives in her short life.
She is survived by her father, Mark S. Schwab and step-mother Hildegard of Lake Hiawatha; her mother, Cathy Candelieri of Lake Hiawatha; a sister, Marina Schwab of Lake Hiawatha , her paternal grandmother, Janet Siudmak of Sarasota, Florida; her maternal grandmother, Josephine Candelieri of Jefferson; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that are too numerous to mention by name.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Gary Schwartz, formerly of Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, for his compassionate care of Amanda which gave her hope and extended her life.
