Obituary of SISTER MARIANNE SULLIVAN

Sister Marianne Sullivan, 74, (formerly Sister John Noreen), a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died September 3, 2014 at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ.
Sister Marianne was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, the daughter of Harold and Catherine (Didovich) Sullivan. She entered the Sisters of Charity on August 20, 1957 and was a member for 57 years.
She graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ with a B.A. degree in Social Studies and from Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT with an M.A. degree in Religious Education.
Sister Marianne was an educator in the State of New Jersey. She taught at Corpus Christi School, Hasbrouck Heights and Holy Trinity School, Hackensack. She then became Elementary School Principal at the Academy of St. Aloysius, Jersey City, followed by Assistant Supervisor of Schools in the Paterson Diocese, and Assistant Superintendent of Schools in the Newark Archdiocese. She then became principal at Immaculate Conception School. She managed the Pelican Shop at Xavier Center, Convent Station and then retired to St. Anne Villa, Convent Station in 2004 where she resided until her death.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her brother and sister-in-law, John M. and Barbara Sullivan, Bloomingdale, NJ; her sister, Adrianne Hanks, Asbury Park, NJ; a niece, Kathleen (Robert) Boss; two nephews, Edward (Lisa) Hanks and Jeffrey (Jodi) Sullivan; and grandnieces and grandnephews.
