Obituary of SISTER ELIZABETH McLAUGHLIN

Sister Elizabeth McLoughlin, 85, formerly Sister Marie Pierre, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ. Sister Elizabeth was born in Paterson, NJ, the daughter of Joseph and Agatha (DeVogel) Mc Loughlin. She entered the Sisters of Charity on September 8, 1947 and was a member for 67 years. Sister Elizabeth graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ with a B.A. degree in Social Studies and from The Catholic University, Washington, DC with an M.A. degree in English. Sister Elizabeth was an Educator in the States of New Jersey and Connecticut. She served as a teacher at St. Peter School, Belleville; Sacred Heart School, Jersey City; St. John High School, New Haven, CT; Bayley-Ellard High School, Madison; St. Aloysius High School, Jersey City. She was Assistant and then Director of Archives at the Motherhouse, Convent Station, NJ. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her nephews, James (Janet) Carroll, Wayne, NJ; Patrick (Mary) Carroll, Hawthorne, NJ; and Alan (Susie) Sergeant; her nieces, Charlotte (Michael) Prather, Irvine, CA; Kathleen (Steven) Nelson, Apple Valley, CA; and Mary Dobrinska, Alta Loma CA. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Sisters of Charity Development Fund, P.O. Box 476, Convent Station, NJ 07961-0476 would be greatly appreciated.
