Obituary of JERRY TESTA

Jerry Testa died peacefully Sunday morning, Jan. 11, 2014 at his home in the Towaco section of Montville. Born and raised in Newark, he was a longtime resident of Pine Brook. He also lived in Florida before returning to Towaco in 1992. Mr. Testa served in the United States Army during World War II. He served in the European theatre and was a participant of the Normandy Invasion. He was awarded various medals including a Purple Heart for his valor. A member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU), he worked as a cutter with various garment firms in New York and New Jersey, most recently, Wilroy Co. in Secaucus before retiring 28 years ago. Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie (nee Bove); a son, Gary Testa; and his siblings, Vincent Testa, Jesse Testa, Anthony Sturchio, Mary Malanga, and Jennie Testa. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Dalonges; a son, Don Testa and his wife Cathy of Towaco; and two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Testa. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Military Order of the Purple Heart Foundation, P.O. Box 49, Annandale, VA. 22003 would be appreciated.
