Obituary of JEREMIAH J. SAVAGE

Jeremiah J. Savage, "Jerry," passed away Saturday evening, January 31, 2015 at West Caldwell Care Center.
Born and raised in Orange, he was a resident of Caldwell before moving to Parsippany in the early 1960's.
Mr. Savage served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was stationed in Okinowa.
He later earned his Bachelors Degree from Seton Hall University.
Mr. Savage had a distinguished career in law enforcement, having served 29 years in the Essex Fells Police Department, before retiring in 1983 as Chief of Police.
He was a longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Parsippany and the PBA Local #81 of Essex Fells.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne; and his three siblings.; he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sally J. (nee Cardia); a daughter, Patti Ann Van Dam of Florida; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
