Maryanne B. Moran (nee Killilea), 66, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, April 8, 2015 at St. Michaels Hospital in Newark following an extended illness.
Born in Jersey City, she was a lifelong resident of Kearny.
Ms. Moran worked for the Town of Kearny for many years. She had served as a crossing guard, secretary to the Mayor, and secretary to the Chief of Police and Detectives Bureau before her retirement two years ago.
Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Corbett Jr. in 1973, she is survived by her four loving children, Kathy Anne McIntyre and her husband Sandy of Little Silver, Thomas J. Corbett III and his wife Melissa of Howell, Kristyn Turturro and her husband George of Freehold, and Maryanne Moran of Kearny; a brother, Dr. Edward Killilea; a sister, Kathleen Driscoll and her husband Timothy; her brothers and sisters-in-law, George Johnson (the late Eileen), Jack and Rosemary Corbett, and Jim and Bette Ann Corbett; and eight cherished grandchildren, Sean, Keith, Brian, Kelly, Abigail, Mia, Nicholas, and Cassandra.
Maryanne's children wish to thank her brother, Dr. Killilea, along with Dr. Savapoulis and all of the doctors and staff at St. Michael's Hospital and the Job Haines Assisted Living for their uncommon care of and kindness to Maryanne during her illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday April 10, 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
