Q: What will you never forget about EDDIE?
A: Eddie, my loving brother, was a fighter, always on the side of what was just. He never judged anyone. He accepted others as they were. And always stood up to the bullies. Although I was older, as a kid he stood up for me as well against the bullies who would try to torment me because they saw me as different. As early as 6th grade they had labeled me a "faggot" way before I knew to be gay. Eddie never backed down. At age ten, Eddie created a safe space for me. He always loved me and with his unconditional love he told me it was okay. His unconditional love has helped me thrive and continue to live happily as who I am, a 67 y/o gay man.
