Alice M. McCarthy passed away Wednesday evening, Oct. 14, 2015 at Berkeley Heights Convalescent Center.
Born in Harrison, she lived in Bloomfield before coming to Springfield many years ago.
Miss McCarthy was a graduate of Seton Hall University and had been an educator with the Springfield and Union School Systems for 35 years before retiring.
She is survived by her nephew, John McCarthy and his wife, Linda of Lake Hiawatha and her niece, Kathleen Sanger and her husband, Robert of Union; and 8 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Association would be most appreciated.
