Josephine Browne (nee Acocella), 93, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Feb. 13, 2016 at her home in Montville.
Born and raised in Newark, she had lived in Irvington for 40 years before coming to Montville in 1994.
Mrs. Browne had worked as an accounts clerk with Royal Global Insurance Co. of East Orange and later East Hanover for 25 years, retiring over 25 years ago.
Jo was active with St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and Rosarian. She was also a member of the Montville Seniors and the Red Hat Society.
Preceded in death by her husband; Alan; and three brothers, Michael, Vito, and Alexander Acocella, she is survived by three children, Alan Browne Jr (Shawn) of Union, Michael Browne of Brighton, NY, and Kathleen Pizzano (Sam) of Rockaway Twsp.; a twin sister, Angelina Acocella of Montville; five grandchildren, Alan Browne (Krista), Michael Pizzano (Laura), David Browne, Rachel Pizzano, and Alexander Browne; and three great-grandchildren, A.J., Mia, and Justin.
