Obituary of SISTER DONNA CROCCO

Sister Mary Donna Crocco, 85, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, NJ. Sister Mary Donna was born in Waterbury, CT the daughter of Nicholas and Frances (Caprio) Crocco. She entered the Sisters of Charity on October 1, 1950 and was a member for 65 years. Sister Mary Donna received her B.S. degree in Education from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ. Sister Mary Donna was an educator and in health care in New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut. She served as a teacher at St. Mary School, Plainfield and at St. Cecilia, Kearny. Sister Mary Donna taught at Blessed Sacrament Elementary School, Jamaica Plains, MA and St. Mary's Elementary School, Waterbury, CT. Sister Mary Donna became a Nurses' Aide and served at Waterbury Hospital and a Pediatric Practice, both in Waterbury. She served as a home health aide and a Nurses' Aide at medical facilities in Middlebury, CT and Derby, CT. She was a volunteer receptionist at St. Mary's Health Center, Waterbury, CT and a receptionist at the office of Dr. P. Grecco, Waterbury, CT. She retired to the Hospital of St. Raphael Convent, New Haven, CT before moving to Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station in 2005 where she remained until her death. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her sisters, Angela La Moy and Frances Nyberg of Waterbury, CT; by nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and great grandnieces.
