Sister Thomas Aquinas Regan, 88, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ.
Sister Thomas Aquinas was born in Boston, MA, the daughter of Thomas and Bridget (Foley) Regan. She entered the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth on March 25, 1947 and was a member for 69 years.
Sister Thomas Aquinas graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ with a B.S. degree in Education and from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA with a M.ED degree in Education. Sister Thomas Aquinas was an educator in New Jersey and Massachusetts. She served as a teacher at St. Bridget School, Jersey City, NJ and Blessed Sacrament School, Jamaica Plain, MA. Sister Thomas Aquinas was principal at St. Patrick School, Jersey City, NJ and St. Jerome School, No. Weymouth, MA. She was librarian at St. Joseph School, Quincy, MA. and then volunteered at Hancock Court, Quincy, MA and at St. John's Parish, Quincy, MA. Sister Thomas Aquinas moved to Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station in 2014 where she resided until her death.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her twin sister Sister Mary Teresa, her brother Joseph C. Regan, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Sister Thomas Aquinas was predeceased by her parents and her brothers Thomas D. and John F. Regan.
