After a short illness, Elva "Nana Banana" Wheelwright, 78 of Hunlock Creek PA went to be with her Savior and her late beloved husband John B. Wheelwright Jr. on Thursday, June 9th, 2016. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Elva was born April 2, 1938 in Wilkes-Barre, PA a daughter of the late Basil and Vera Masters. She was a Licensed Real Estate Broker for 25 years most recently with Five Mountains Realty. As printed in the Times Leader, she was known for being the fastest egg roller in Shickshinny who helped with organizing many fundraising and community events such as the Muhlenburg United Methodist Church's Annual Fall Festival. This sweet, caring, and hard-working woman will be greatly missed by her fellow parishioners, friends, and family.
Her late siblings include: brothers, Carl, Charles, and Glenn Masters, and sister, Linda Yurko.
Surviving are her brothers Robert Masters of Hunlock Creek; and Dale Masters of Sweet Valley; sisters, Reva Eck of Sweet Valley; Ada Petroski of Sweet Valley; and Patricia Chapin of Stillwater; daughter, Darlene Mele and husband, Albert, Parsippany, N.J.; sons, John Wheelwright III and wife Janine, Byram, N.J.; and Randy Wheelwright and wife Denise, Lake Hopatcong, N.J.; grandchildren, Anthony and wife Melissa, Melissa and husband William, and Shannon, Kayla, Corinne and Tyler Wheelwright; as well as her first great grandchild Liam Murphy.
