Sergio Vasquez passed away Monday morning, Sept. 26, 2016 at his home in the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany, surrounded by his family. He was 71.
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, he had lived Brooklyn, NY before coming to Lake Hiawatha 20 years ago.
Mr. Vasquez served proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was a New York State Court Officer, working out of Brooklyn for 19 years, retiring in 2002.
Preceded in death by his wife, Emma Sanchez Vasquez in 2015; he is survived by his mother, Aleja (nee Hernandez) Urdaneta ok Brooklyn; five children, Raymond Vasquez of Staten Island, NY, Michele Vasquez of Staten Island, NY, Elaine Vasquez of Queens, NY, Brian Vasquez of Platsburgh, NY, and Diego Vasquez of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
